Prior to the official formation of Production HAKS, the crew were working on 'Mixed Signals' in March 2020, before the first national lockdown. As a result, the project was shelved. Studio Brunel were looking to showcase a short film for their Arts Festival 2021, which at the time, was commencing within the month. As a producer for Studio Brunel and creative director of Production HAKS, I pitched to both companies that the two work together and produce 'Mixed Signals'. The final project consisted of a 14-person cast and crew, consisting of the founding members of Production HAKS, as well as members of the Studio Brunel community. All members were required to complete the ScreenSkills Coronavirus basic awareness on production training. The final budget for the project was £700 (funded by Studio Brunel), covering expenses such as travel, costume, props, set dressing, sanitisation and catering. Through Studio Brunel, we were also able to source equipment, locations and additional set dressing. The project premiered at the Studio Brunel Arts Festival 2021, and remains to be the intellectual property of Production HAKS.
